Recap: Supper Theatre #2 (The Immigrants)

The second edition of our Supper Theatre series at VGP Heritage was a beautiful celebration of stories, humour, and community. With The Immigrants, directed once again by the legendary Michael Muthu, we continued our vision of bringing unique theatre experiences to Chennai, at our iconic VGP Heritage Venues by the sea.

What was our second edition about?

Supper Theatre #2 featured The Immigrants, a double bill of two short English comedy plays that explore identity, family, and the experiences of newcomers in a new world. Each play was warm, witty, and featured some brilliant characters that had the audience laughing throughout.

The setup was cosy, intimate, and very immersive. Exactly what we envision for every edition. We began the evening with snacks and welcome refreshments, followed by the first play, a short interval, and then the second play, finally followed by a comforting supper to end the night on a delightful note.

Our reach this time!

Promotions for Supper Theatre #2 reached a massive number of people across social media platforms. Our videos, teasers, and behind-the-scenes content received 1.9 MILLION views. Offline promotions, including print ads and posters across the city, added another 2000+ impressions.

And the response?

We saw a great turnout across both show days. We had great energy in the room, lots of laughs, engaged reactions, and so many shared moments that reminded us why theatre continues to thrive in our beautiful city of Chennai. It was a strong sign that the community is ready and excited for more cultural experiences.

So, what’s next?

We’re already gearing up for Supper Theatre #3, coming soon, and it promises to be even bigger and more exciting.

We are also inviting sponsors and partners to join us in growing this cultural movement that we’ve started here at VGP Heritage. If you’d like to collaborate or support the arts in Chennai, we’d love to hear from you.
