A new cultural movement arrives in Chennai!
From May 1 to 3, 2026, VGP Heritage will host something very unique: ThekkIndian, a pioneering Afro-dance festival that brings together African rhythms and South Indian cultural energy in one powerful space.
After a successful first edition in Kerala, ThekkIndian is now expanding its journey, building a cultural bridge that celebrates movement, music, identity, and connection across continents.
ThekkIndian is a dance festival and a cultural experience combined. It explores the shared spirit between African and South Indian traditions through high-energy dancing, workshops with talented artists and instructors, live music performances, and fashion showcases inspired by cultural fusion.
The festival creates a space for artists, dancers, and audiences to come together and learn as well as celebrate diversity through movement.
