VGP Heritage Venues Presents Supper Theatre #3: Two to Tango

PRESS RELEASE

VGP Heritage Venues is back with the third edition of Supper Theatre, continuing its vision of bringing meaningful theatre experiences to Chennai. After two successful editions, Supper Theatre #3 promises another fantastic evening of storytelling and lots of laughs at Pandian Hall, VGP Heritage, ECR.

Supper Theatre is a unique concept that combines live theatre with dining. Audiences watch an intimate stage performance in a comfortable heritage setting, enjoy snacks and drinks, and then come together for a grand dinner after the show. “It is a complete evening experience,” says VGP Pradeep Rajadas, director of VGP Heritage, “and we want to encourage people to slow down a little, connect, and enjoy art in a beautiful environment.”

The third edition, titled “Two to Tango,” features an evening of two short comedy plays performed back-to-back, directed by Chennai’s theatre legend, Michael Muthu. Both plays are two-character productions that explore relationships between men and women with humour and warmth.

The first play, “A Need for Brussel Sprouts,” follows two lonely, middle-aged New Yorkers living in the same apartment building: a struggling actor and a tough police officer. What begins as conflict slowly reveals shared loneliness and the possibility of an unexpected connection.

The second play, “A Need for Less Expertise,” focuses on a long-married couple trying to save their relationship using a self-help audio tape. The play humorously highlights the challenges of long-term relationships and the often amusing search for easy answers to deeply personal problems.

Both plays are directed by Michael Muthu, a respected name in theatre, and star Sumitha Menon, Sarvesh Sridhar, Anushka Maria, and Michael Muthu himself.
